Yes the door will close once you have attached the 36 pair over door shoe rack depending on the clearance between the top of the door and the door frame. The shoe rack hook is less than 2mm thick. It can also be attached to the face of a door should you have insufficient clearance between the top of the door and the frame using the 3 way patented over door hook provided with the rack.
